The Center for Legal Medicine has expanded its accreditation field in accordance with the requirements of the standard SM EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2018, for the tests indicated in annex no. 2 of 24.02.2025 at the Certificate Certificate Lî - 136. This achievement demonstrates the functionality of the laboratories within the CML at the level of the highest international standards of competence and quality, guaranteeing its beneficiaries. The success achieved was possible with the valuable support provided by UNDP, which has supported us throughout the entire process of development and implementation of the best international practices in the field of judicial expertise.

This visit was made within the project "Eu4mdii -eu4mnitRoing Drugs II", held on March 12-15, 2024. At the same time, the specialized teams visited the institutions: the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova (Technical-Criminal Center and Judicial Expertise), the National Anti-Drug Commission, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova Moldova, the National Penitentiary Administration, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova (Republican Narcology Dispensary, Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases "Toma Ciorbă", Center for Legal Medicine), National Agency for Public Health, Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Ministry of Moldova, Ministry of Moldova, Ministry of Moldova. The objectives and expectations of the visit were the following: - to inform about the latest trends and developments about drug use, drug markets and intervention measures; -revision of cooperation between EMCDDA and the Republic of Moldova in the context of EU ACQUIS requirements, which fall within the scope of EMCDDA (chapter 24: justice, freedom and security): • operationalization of the national drug observer; • the national early warning system (EWS); • Collection of drug data in accordance with EU protocols and reports; - Agreement of an activity plan for the year 2024 for Moldova. The final results following the visit and study: - an evaluation report for internal use - a summary that will be shared with the partners from the Republic of Moldova.

On 16.01.2023 the medical-legal toxicology section of the CML was accredited according to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. This demonstrates the operation of the laboratory at the level of international standards, professional competence, technical endowment and accuracy of the results obtained. It offers the laboratory a strong competitive advantage and increases the beneficiaries' confidence for the services offered. During the UNDP accreditation process it provided a considerable support for the elaboration of the documented information, the validation of the applied methods and itself the accreditation process.
